Terms of Service
1. Who we are
IndieShield ("the Service") is operated by Pandemonium Software Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16948391, registered office [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.
2. What the Service is
IndieShield performs non-intrusive, passive security checks on a website address you provide. It requests publicly available pages and files, reads the responses, inspects the TLS certificate and reads public DNS records. It then reports what it found and suggests fixes.
The Service does not attempt to gain unauthorised access, inject attack payloads, brute-force credentials, or alter anything on the target site.
3. Your responsibilities — authorised use only
You may only scan websites that you own, or that you have explicit permission to test. You confirm this each time you run a scan. Scanning systems without authorisation may be unlawful, including under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to scan any address you submit.
You must not use the Service to: scan third-party systems without permission; attempt to overload or disrupt the Service; resell or redistribute reports as your own automated service; or circumvent payment, rate limits or access controls.
4. No guarantee of security
The Service checks for a defined set of common misconfigurations. It cannot find every vulnerability and a clean report does not mean your site is secure. In particular it does not test application logic, authentication, injection flaws, or anything requiring authorised active penetration testing.
The Service is not a substitute for a professional penetration test or security audit, and is provided for informational purposes only. You remain responsible for the security of your own systems.
5. Payment and access
Basic scan results are provided free. Full reports require payment. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card details. On successful payment you receive an unlock key granting access to full reports. Keep it safe — anyone holding it can use it. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future purchases.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it, including individual checks, at any time.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data, or any security incident affecting your systems, whether or not the Service reported it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
